Social Media Addiction

Addiction is a bonding issue. Human beings have a natural need to bond and happily connect; however, if the person isn’t able to do that, then either life beats them down, or they don’t experience a good relationship with their loved ones.

The person replaces this bonding need with something else such as gambling, drugs, cigarettes, sex, shopping, smartphones, alcohol, or work, thereby building a connection, which is in his innate nature.

Therefore, it becomes highly critical to bond with helpful something rather than something that can cause harm.

Our society is suffering from a massive problem that makes people feel inadequate and not enough: the addiction to social media

People stop enjoying their lives and precious moments to take pictures or videos and post them on social media. This is just a way to request people to envy them or demand attention from them. The fake stories and the filtered pictures eventually make the person feel alone with each passing day and get him to feel worse rather than happy.

Modern society is brainwashed to neglect the valuable and meaningful things in life and seeks to show off, indulge in shopping, spend money and take pictures. Additionally, they freak out if they can’t afford a trendy thing for themselves or their kids. They freak out about not being accepted by the community and their environment if they don’t own a particular asset. Besides, they crave to be followed and liked over social media channels, which makes them momentarily happy and satisfied.

How do you detox yourself from social media impact, addiction, and anxiety? How to build the connection to more interesting values that will change your life? A social media detox, no matter the time you spend away from it, be it hours, days, weeks, or even months, can benefit your mental health. Little steps are certainly recommended if you’re not ready to take significant action away from it.
